They can contain additional donor atoms like oxygen, sulphur, nitrogen etc. which makes them Suitable chelating ligands to coordinate with Metal ions to form Schiff base complexes. Thus provides the possibility synthesis of large number of Schiff base complexes with divers__ampersandsignrsquo; structural feature. The model system including those with bidentate, tridentate and tetra dentate Schiff base derived from Salicyaldehyde and their coordination chemistry are summarized in this review.&#13;
