Surgical excision is the only treatment available, but it has a higher risk of recurrence which has led to a strong focus on finding alternative preventive and cure therapies for fibroadenoma. Ancient trusted therapies such as Ayurveda play a significant role in bringing about integrative approaches. Two conditions described in Samhitas, granthi and arbuda are close to that of lump, but detailed breast-related descriptions of these diseases are not available in the classics of Ayurveda. We have therefore tried to equate this disease with the Ayurvedic entities; only to open the doors of a holistic approach in the management of fibroadenoma breast.
