According to the present studies it has become an attractive target for the development of drugs, which hold variety of biological activities. Derivatives of barbituric acid have attracted the attention of researchers in synthetic organic chemistry, as well as medicinal chemistry, for a long time as a result of their exceptionally diverse biological activity. Present review highlights the importance of the barbituric acid in the present context.
