The explants were cultured on Murashige and Skoogs (MS) medium supplemented with various concentrations of auxins, cytokinins and sucrose. Highest percentage (97%) of shoot induction were observed from axillary meristem, developed 10-20 shoots when cultured in the medium containing the combination of 6 -Benzyl amino purine (BAP) (0.5 mg/l) and Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) (0.2mg/l) supplemented with 3% Sucrose within 25 days.
