English0514Vandana GoelEnglish B. R. GoyalEnglish Archana MathurEnglish Gyan ChandEnglish Vineet MarwahaEnglish Anil DharEnglishIntroduction: Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) was announced as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020. According to a WHO report on COVID-19, the disease has nospecific manifestation and the patient's presentation can range from completely asymptomatic to severe pneumonia and death. Objective: To retrospectively characterize and interpret the spectrum of chest computed tomography (CT) imaging features of Coronavirus disease - 19 (COVID-19) in infected Indian population and to correlate CT total severity score with clinical classification and study extra-pulmonary manifestation of Corona-virus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Methods: A retrospective single-centre study was conducted on patients with COVID-19 from May 10, 2020, to July 13, 2020, in tertiary care Max super specialty hospital, Delhi, India. A total of 532 patients either laboratory-confirmed or strongly suspected of having COVID-19 underwent CT chest and their imaging features were analyzed and interpreted in detail and studied for extrapulmonary manifestation of COVID-19. The consistency of observers was evaluated for CT total severity score (TSS) and TSS was compared with clinical classification. Result: This study included 532 patients, 10 patients were excluded from the study. Among a total of 522 patients in the study, 362 (69.3%) were males and 160 (30.7%) were females with a mean age of 52.75 years (range 14-88). According to the clinical subtype classification there were mild 17 (3.3%), common 355 (68.0%), severe 105 (20.1%) and critical 45 (8.6%) cases. 57 (10.9%) patients died and 37 (7.08%) patients showed extra-pulmonary manifestation of COVID-19. There were 17 patients with normal CT chest. Only 2 cases had unilateral lung disease and the rest of 503 cases showed bilateral lung involvement with multiple opacities and multiple lobe involvement. Diffuse lung involvement i.e. white lung noted in 10 cases and none of the patient had single lesion. Opacities on CT imaging tended to be both peripheral and central in most cases, followed by purely peripheral and rarely are with the purely central distribution. According to CT attenuation of opacity, Ground glass opacity (GGO), and the mixture of Ground glass opacity & consolidative opacities and consolidative opacities was the dominant abnormality founded almost in all cases. Perilesional or intralesional, thickened small vessel was observed in almost all cases. Accompanying signs were crazy paving (40.6%), reverse halo sign (10.9 %), subpleural lines (47.9%), air bronchogram (28.4%), bronchiectasis (18.6%), pleural effusion (5.6%) and mediastinal lymphadenopathy (4.8%). Follow up scanning was obtained in 28 cases, showed no change in 2 cases, turned better in 12 cases, and became worse in 14 cases on follow up imaging studies. Conclusions: The typical pattern of COVID-19 pneumonia in Delhi, India , was ground glass opacity in the form of pure ground glass opacity, ground glass opacity with superimposed crazy paving pattern or Ground glass opacity admixed with consolidation with intralesional vascular enlargement were the most dominant lung parenchymal abnormalities with the peripheral and posterior distribution encountered in most of the cases. In the short term follow-up, more patients had disease progression rather than absorption. Proportion of patients [17 (3.2%)] with normal CT chest in laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 was relatively low; hence chest CT may play a complementary role in the early detection of COVID-19 pneumonia and could be regarded as a diagnotic standard of COVID-19. COVID-19 is progressive viral pneumonia with broad spectrum of clinical manifestations and can also present with extra-pulmonary manifestations .

English1519PraneekshaEnglish R. GayathriEnglish R. Gayatri DeviEnglish V. Vishnu PriyaEnglishIntroduction: The spread of COVID-19 has become a major threat to the whole world and has shown a vast spread all over. The important source of the spread of the virus is the droplets from the nose and mouth. The virus causes damage more than the respiratory infection and it spreads all through the lungs in a fast manner. Researchers have informed that not only droplets from the nose and mouth even small particles from the air can cause the infection. The sanitizers and facemask are the most used products during the outbreak to protect us from getting affected by the virus; these have become the major things we believe that protects us from the virus. There are two main types of face masks that are produced N95 and P100. Sanitizers that protect us from getting attacked by the viruses have certain contents like 60% alcohol to be present in the sanitizer. The use of sanitizer and face mask has become a basic habit of people nowadays during the outbreak. But due to lack of knowledge, there is irrelevant usage of masks and sanitizers prevalent among urban society. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire was designed online using Google docs which consisted of 15 questions. The study population included was the urban population of South India. The data were analyzed statistically. Results: From this survey, it is evident that the urban South Indian Population is much aware of the usage of self-protective aids during a pandemic situation. Conclusion: Awareness is the first step to fight against disease. Awareness has to be created for the rural population too. A similar survey has to be done with the rural population in the future.

English3442Deepthi SogasuEnglish Jayalakshmi SomasundaramEnglish Smiline Girija ASEnglishAim: To understand and analyze the various emerging challenges that dentists will face after COVID 19 pandemic in India. Materials and Methods: Online survey platform - Google forms were used to formulate the survey. Online interfaces like WhatsApp, Gmail, etc. were used to share the survey. The data collected was then analyzed using software like IBM SPSS Statistics 23. Introduction: The novel coronavirus pandemic is infecting more and more people day after day. This is so, because of the virus’ mode of transmission. It can be easily transmitted through air and droplet infection. It can easily spread through aerosols too. The coronavirus is considered as a part of the SARS and MERS CoV family. For the same reasons, speculation remains about the novel virus’ transmission through the fecal-oral route. Since it is a highly contagious virus, health care professionals are at an increased risk of infection. Dental professionals especially are required to take more precautions to protect themselves from the aerosols produced. This can be achieved if the dentists reduce aerosol producing procedures and wear proper PPE. This survey study discusses all the future problems faced by dentists after the lockdown is alleviated. The information for this survey was collected using a self-prepared questionnaire which was distributed among general dental practitioners in India. The questions were based on the various problems faced by dentists and how they will cope with the current situation. The responses were recorded and statistically analyzed to obtain the results. From the responses obtained, it can be concluded that the dentists face various problems. The most evident concerns are infection control, aerosols, and adequate PPE. Results: The results suggest that the primary challenges to be faced by the dentists will be dependent on their geographical location. The most important challenge anticipated by the majority of dentists is the increased use of PPE and aerosol production, in the same order. Conclusion: There are definitely a lot of changes to be made in dental practice after the COVID-19 pandemic. Understanding the most important ones and prioritizing them is of utmost importance.

Severe respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the causative factor for this disease. It has affected about 210 countries worldwide, resulting in over 1,26,000 deaths. Being a droplet infection, it spreads between people having close contact. It is contracted through small droplets produced by sneezing, coughing, and talking. The droplet could also fall on the ground and onto other surfaces and people touching these surfaces could also contract the infection. The role of the public in this is extremely crucial. The citizens should abide by the rules of social distancing strictly. Everyone must try to stay at home as much as possible, even though there is an exception for those in essential services like government jobs and medical facilities. Going out should be avoided as much as possible, people should only go if it is absolutely necessary and even then not meet people or stand in groups. The study aimed to assess the awareness and initiative taken by the condominium office administrators and residents among the metro cities during an infection (COVID-19) spread. Materials and Methods: A questionnaire was distributed through an online Google form link to about 100 people living in condominiums belonging to all age groups. The results were collected and analyzed statistically using SPSS. Results: The majority of the study population responded positively to the awareness and initiatives taken by condominium authorities and strict rules were laid. Conclusion: The spread of awareness and the strict decisions taken by the public is very essential to fight against a pandemic such as COVID 19.

The infection began in Wuhan City, Hubei Province in China and was initially diagnosed as an acute respiratory syndrome of unknown origin. The virus has been known to spread via infected droplets, aerosols, and direct contact making it an efficient pathogen. All healthcare workers, especially dentists [since they come in contact with infected aerosol on a daily basis] are at a higher risk of infection with COVID. This study is to check the awareness of the condition among dentists and dental students and to see the effect this disease has bought on dentistry. The aim of this study is to discuss the implications of COVID in dentistry. Materials and Methods: The study was carried out in a self-administered questionnaire format. The questionnaire was created on an online platform called Survey Planet and distributed to dental students and private practitioners. The questionnaire consisted of knowledge about COVID and steps on taking extra precautions while seeing patients. The data was collected and compiled in SPSS. Results: Based on the tabulated data, it was seen that most dentists had good knowledge about their practice. 89% agreed that dentists are at a higher risk for COVID. 60.8% said that COVID spreads through infected aerosols. 57.1% said that they would deny treatment to a patient if they suspect them to be infected with COVID-19. 76.9% feel anxious while treating patients and 82.4% are aware of the authorities to call if they come across a patient suspected with COVID-19. Conclusion: It is important for dentists to use proper PPE equipment like masks, face shields, and gowns. Procedures that involve the production of aerosols should be avoided until necessary. Moreover, proper sanitization should be done after completing a procedure and the chair should be disinfected with disinfectants to minimize the chances of the spread of the pathogen via aerosols. Based on the results it is seen the dentists are very anxious when it comes to treating patients during the pandemic. However, they are well aware of the dangers of this disease and are taking precautions to keep themselves and their patients safe
